G Wagen 722.6 5-Speed Auto Conversion

In conjunction with the powerful om606/605 conversions we carry out, we offer the retrofitment of the sophisticated 722.6 transmission. This has many added benefits over the standard autos and manuals alike, here are a few below;

  • 5th gear overdrive– this allows for excellent motorway cruising. For example if your vehicle is currently  4500rpms @ 80mph this will now become 3500rpms @ 80mph.
  • Selectable lockable torque converter– this improves mpg and towing capabilities greatly. Also under bonnet temperatures are reduced by the lower gearbox working temperatures. This function allows manual like gear holds for extended towing or racing periods.
  • With the gearbox shifts being controlled by a standalone electronic controller everything is variable and can be tailored to a customers exact needs. This gearbox conversion is perfectly suited to a mild 200bhp conversion or 500bhp wild setup.

G Wagen Engine Conversions

We can offer om606 (6cyl) and om605 (5cyl) turbodiesel conversions for G Wagen owners. These can be from mild to wild. All of our engine builds have dieselmeken injector pumps which would be spec’d to the customers power requirements. These excellent pumps carry a lifetime warranty with dieselmeken ab sweden!

G Wagen Pumps

We offer pumps in two different formats

  • 7.5mm + alda this style of injector pump greatly surpasses many others tested on the market for its gentle smooth idle, excellent fuel consumption and future proof power abilities. 200-500bhp
  • 8.0mm + alda this is recommended as a serious performance pump and can fuel a serious power build recommended for large turbo users! 500bhp ++++

ALDA, is a device used to control fuelling relative to boost. On any high quality fuel pump it is a must have.

For example if a 7.5mm pump was set to 140cc max fuel, full throttle off boost would seriously overfuel the engine and cause damage. So the alda system holds fuelling back to 40cc until boost is achieved. This can allow a big cc pump that is engine friendly.

Be aware; any pump producing more than 50cc without alda is not advised as excessive fuel (black smoke) will be reducing the engines lifespan.

Claims of pumps producing 50cc of fuel or more with no alda system with no smoke or detrimental effects should be taken at your own risk. We have learned this through experience …

G Wagen Exhaust systems

We can happily build bespoke stainless steel exhaust systems and turbo-manifolds.
For most of our builds 200bhp+ we recommend a free flowing 3inch stainless system.
This reduces harmful engine back-pressure and keeps engine and turbocharger exhaust gas temperatures down (harmful to your engine).
Also the systems we build are generally pleasing to the eye.

  1. hello. Im interesed in a exhaust manifold for 2 turbos on a om606 and in a G-Wagen. I see the picture on a twin-turbo but Im also curious about compound turbo manifold. The picture looks like Goran Lindgrens stup ? At Dieselmeken ? Is that correct ?

  2. Hi what kind of cost to do a engine conversion on w463 1992 300d 5 speed manual gearbox g wagon. With ss exhaust turbo nice manifold At the moment its about 117bhp pretty rubbish would like about 260 to 290bhp not to wild have to stop

    I have a 1993 5 door W461. Originally it was a 290GD but the previous owner put an M104 3.2l straight six in, using the original 5 speed manual gearbox (717.445). I’m relocating to the UK in the next few months and plan to being my G with me, what would a gearbox conversion to the 722.6 cost? My wife doesn’t like driving the manual around town.

    What would a full conversion to the om606 plus auto box cost me? How long does it take and how long before I want to do the work should I get in touch with you?

  12. Hi, I’ve found these lovely little w210 1998 (in australia years) with that lovely straight 6 3 liter motor, and five speed auto. I have three of them, for spares to keep me playing for the next ten years or more. I’m happy with the standard electronic rack if i could bypass the merc computer, I have played with a chip, and with lpg (propane) supplement, but run into problems with the auto and 3-4 flares. Am after suggestions, costs, etc.

    i have purchased a 1988 G wagen 230GE W460, SWB, at present someone had put a Daihatsu diesel engine in it but i would like it converting back to a mercedes engine? Is this something you can do and if so what is the cost?

  19. good afternoon, I purchased a 1987 280GE wagen and want to install a 5 cyl. turbo diesel. I have the 5 speed manual transmission and I have an array of engine mounts ,none that work. i have the engine in place and so far have tried 3 different sets of mounts including the ones that were on the original 6 cyl. gas engine. any help will be appreciated
